Brice is still all there.
As long as the Dr. was going to stick him with a needle, Momma asked them to to use a bigger needle and do a full blood panel. She has a new plan to have full blood panels done every year so that we can hopefully catch things before they get too big.
The vet ran the tests and found that one of his protein levels (ABL) is too low. So they stuck him again and re-ran the test to confirm the results. This time that protein level was in the normal range. So we have either a false low or a false normal. They stuck him again and they're sending the blood out to an independent lab for testing (at their expense) and will have their equipment tested. The blood test results will not be in until Monday. The Dr. recommended postponing the surgery until the results are in.
A low reading could indicate a liver issue or could interfere with his healing from surgery. So a new appointment is set up for next Friday pending a normal reading.
Momma and Dad are not stressing over it yet. Just concerned.

PeeEssWoo: Please share some with The Khrown Prince!
Stormy said that sometimes it's a question of having eaten or not eaten and that can change things. Your mom and dad are really smart to do a full panel every year!
Stormy also said if they need a Lab, Dave's available. What with him being a Lab in a Sibe suit and all. :)
Please tell Brice I'm praying for him and that he's handsome!
Love,
Ammy
Handsome Brice will be fine! Meeshka's mom says that you are not allowed to panic until there is something to panic about :) Keep us posted and I do think it is smart to do a panel every year on the blood!!!
Hugs,
Sitka
Its probably nothing serious but smart V-E-T to check it out.

I can come over and do a cat scan after you've sent Brice to the lab (Dave) if you want...

Since they're fixing something that really isn't broken in the first place (I mean REALLY!), it's good that they wait. This will give you more time to wreak havoc at home. WooHoo!

WOO WOO - I'm glad your Mom got the blood tests and I'm praying that your new test will be just fine but enjoy the extra time before your procedure. Thor, I'm afraid I know what's going to happen to you because Mom did it to me and it really doesn't hurt. Marco Polo doesn't get it because he hasn't had it done.
Keep us Updated.

Brice is getting to be a pin cushion. Better safe than sorry. He will get rid of those parts that he doesn't need soon enough.
Get pics of him on the previous blog.
I hope it isn't anything serious .. but does this mean you get to keep your bits? ;-)
Cheers
Charlie
We hope it all comes back normal!!!
Hey Princess Eva and Brice,
Ouch! Being poked is not fun. Hope you are done with all that needle business. I was fixed when I wasn't broken either and I had lots of friends at the doggy park, so you will be fine Brice! And if any doggy teases you just have Princess Eva send them into exile.
Suka
We sure are hoping for the best for you. I think it is a given though that you will get fixed.. Sorry man you will be just fine. Louie hasn't changed a bit since he got broke.. Still Mr. Wildman although he does pee like a girl...

Don't worry about Brice...he's fine:) He's got such luxurious fur... he can't really be low on protein! I am sure this must've been a temporary thing.
Licks,
Oorvi
Oh well as bad as I feel for you that he didn't get them taken off I'm glad they are making sure he is okay.
We hope everything is okay with Brice and that the test equipment at the vet is just sick.
