A visitor!!

We were so excited yesterday because Momma said that we were going to have a visitor and it was going to be someone that we had met before. Was it AO4's mom? Nope. Was it Summi's mummi? Nope. It was Holly 's mom that was coming!

Brice immediately embarrassed Momma by showing how we are not suppose to greet guests. His back feet did stay on the floor but he did drape himself over Holly's mom and gave her lots of kisses. At least he didn't crawl up in her lap.

We could smell Holly and Khady Lynn and kept looking for them but we couldn't find them. We even looked in the backyard but the girls were nowhere to be found. Maybe next time.

He can be nice....occasionally

My stupid brother had a moment of weakness and was being really nice to me. But I want to make one thing clear.
My brother was NOT kissing me!

Please notice I had one ear back as a sign that I did not like what he was doing. But I think he was just checking me for crumbs from dinner.

We've got pictures!!!

Finally, Momma was able to shake pictures out of the magic box (videos still not working).

Sometimes they can't tell where one Terv ends and the other starts.
Momma calls it the "blur of fur"

Dad is trained to pet with both hands.

"Are you done making noise yet?"
You can also see the our bright yellow room at the end of the hall.

The remodel continues slowly. You can see why they say that it is a Terv remodel. The wall color (which is darker in real life) is almost the color of our undercoat. The floors are mahagony. Brice and I both have a coat classified as mahogany. The new woodwork is shiny white like the boy's teeth.

What do you think of Dad's sleepy pants? They have polar bears on them!

Brice has an boo-boo on his snooter. They had put him in our room while I was having my nails done and he tried to get to us by going under the door!

Dad always has to pet us and smooch us before he even takes off his coat.

That's enough for today. We'll be back to show more of our recently sprung pictures soon.

Hidden Treasures

We were a little sad last night due to remembering some of the pups waiting at the Rainbow Bridge and needed a little pick-me-up. We found these video treasures.

Click here for one and here for two.

I sure one of those brightened your day.

Happy Birthday Princess

My sister is 5 years old today but so far, it has not been a good day.

First, it's too cold for us to go to the park. The last time we checked the weather wheel says that it's -8F. Momma polished Eva's tiara and then got out the flashy beast but she can't get the pictures to download. Followed by the nasty brush. (yes, she realizes that these did not occur in the correct order). But we have lots of fluffy new snow and we have some fresh knuckle bones for our afternoon treat.

Since posts should have pictures, Momma dug this out of the recent archive.

Snuggling on the couch

I think I'll keep her,

What do you mean that we're done?

Brice likes to help shovel the patio and deck. Meanwhile, the princess was inside where it's warm.

Hopefully some video tomorrow.

Crunchy Treats

We forgot to share a picture of us enjoying our crunchy treats on Turkey Day.
We didn't post any close-ups since some may find the concept of us eating raw meat unappealing. Momma does give us raw turkey necks, knuckle bones etc, as a natural way to keep our teeth bright and shiny. We looooove to crunch on bones. Don't worry, she's done her research and knows which bones are safe for us.

And for those who think that Eva is a delicate little princess, she finished her turkey neck long before I did. She is actually looking for crumbs in the picture above. Normally, I'm fast but I was trying to not touch it with my paws.

And for those who are waiting for it to snow, it snowed again here yesterday. It's not very deep but it does put a spring in our steps. We're hoping for more later this week.

I think it's time to go out and play again,
Brice

Want to see our room?

For the last few days, the Princess and I have been confined to our room a lot. Dad says that it is for our safety while he and Momma install the new hardwood floor in the living room and hallway. I think he is scared that I'll get my tail nailed to the floor. I may be brave but I'm not stupid.

We've been very quiet and they make sure that we have frequent play breaks.

This is our room. Princess Eva has the green kennel that you see. She likes her kennel tucked away in a corner where she can pretend that it's a cave. My kennel is in another corner. But I rarely go in it. I prefer to make myself comfortable on the guest bed. Notice the artful bedding arrangement?

They still have a few more things to do to the living room but we will show you the finished product when they're done. They did choose colors that won't clash with our fur.

Brice

He's such a BOY

Eva: Brice, how could you do THAT to me?

Brice: Princess, I'm sorry. We were sniffing the same thing and I just had an uncontrollable urge to pee on it. I forgot that you were there. Really, I did!!

Eva: I don't care. YOU PEED ON MY HEAD!!!

Brice: But it was only a couple of drops.

Eva: That doesn't matter. What matters is that you did it!

Brice: You're lucky that my tank was dry. Otherwise, Momma would have had to give you a bath.

Eva: No, you're lucky that Momma gave me extra salmon treats because of it. We talked and decided that if you EVER do that again, she's going to hold you down and I get to pee all over of you. We'll be watching you.

Some of what we have been doing

Sorry we haven't been around much lately. We've been busy helping paint, installing doors, ripping out sub-floors etc. Next is installing the rest of the hardwood floor. Dad said we can't help install the crown molding because we're not tall enough.

For those that asked: Brice hasn't destroyed his new toy yet. Probably because I don't tug on it with him.

And Brice aka "the boy" has a small bladder infection. So Momma has to wrangle him twice a day to take his pills. If she tries to stuff it in a treat, he manages to eat the treat and spit out the pill and if she uses peanut butter, he licks the peanut butter off and spits out the pill. So she's doing the old fashioned way, opens his mouth and shoves it in.

Momma went to get a new toy

Since the Princess doesn't really play with toys other than her tennis ball, most of the toys are selected for me.

And the selection of not easily destructed toys is rather slim but here is one of my new toys.

Where you going?

We were playing together nicely and then Momma just turned around and walked away.

Where are you going Momma???

She didn't answer us. Do you know where our Momma went?

Snow!!! - more pictures added

Sorry for the bad picture but somepup ate Momma's boot so she wasn't willing to actually go out in the snow. We'll try for better pictures in the morning if the snow is still here.

Edited to add some pictures from this morning.

Eva going to bark at the neighbor dogs

Brice in motion as he normally is. He rarely walks anywhere.
Momma likes to describe him as "enthusiastic about life"

Zoomies in the snow!
Eva is angling to cut Brice off at the willow tree.

I was a bad, bad boy

Last night I went downstairs with Momma to discuss dinner with Dad. For some reason, I wanted to play "King of the Mountain" and hopped up on Dad's pool table. They stood there stunned while I did a few laps on it before they told me to get off it.

When Momma took me downstairs this morning to take this picture. I did it again. I foresee a "talk" with Dad tonight.

Years ago Dad built a pocket gate to keep any future dogs from being able to run up and downstairs between the two levels of our house. Since I have a tendency to find things downstairs and stash them in our room for destruction later, this gate is usually closed.

Later last night Momma noticed that I was not in the living room with them so she checked to make sure the gate was closed. She did find me in the hallway with a new "chew toy".
These were Momma's favorite yard raking, poo patrol, snow shoveling boots. She keeps them in the foyer which is on the other side of the gate. Guess she's the poo monitor for the next few days to make sure that everything is still processing.

I think I'll try to stay out of trouble for the rest of the day,
Brice, the Duke of Destruction

It's my chair!

Can we convince Momma to order some bully sticks today? Yes, we can!
Can we convince Dad that he needs to stop and buy Brice a new Flying Squirrel today? Yes, we can!
Can we nap all day? Yes, we can!
Can we convince humans that this chair belongs to Brice? Yes, we can ........ try!

We voted

I voted. Did you?

I voted. Did you?

Just because......

We're really spoiled with Momma home 24/7. Lots of playtime, treats and snuggles. I cleaned her ears at least 8 times today. My undercoat is coming back in time for winter. All of Eva's pictures from yesterday were blurry (Momma mumbles it that it's hard to throw our toys and take pictures at the same time) But here is one of me!

Just a little fun

So I finally got Momma away from raking the backyard again (3 times in the past week) and demanded that she give us some computer time. Over on Ben's blog, I found some cool links.
For our Starsigns and our horoscopes

For Brice (dob 1/30/07) Aquarius

"The Aquarius dog can be weird and wacky. His tastes are not always what you might expect of a canine. His interests are as diverse and wonderful as they are offbeat and unusual.

Aquarius dogs are known to 'bite back'. Don't push them too hard, they are well aware of their limits and play is not always on the agenda.

Aquarius dog likes time alone as much as the time they spend with you. Occasionally grumpy and always studying your next move with intent to 'out-think' you. A complex but ultimately lovable character."

(Note from Momma- most is true but Brice is a velcro dog, he must always be with his people)

His horoscope for the week

"As admired as you already are, isn't it a pleasure to meet a newcomer who takes a shine to you and makes your heart beat happily! This may be someone you met briefly in the past, but now you get more of an opportunity to spend time exploring just how nicely suited you are. While humans scurry about looking for compatible partners, you've found a wonderful match. Develop this by paying as much attention to the other as you would have them pay to you!"

For Eva (dob 12/21/03) Sagittarius

"Sassy Sagittarius. The coolest canines on the block. The Sagittarian dog is well travelled, well educated classy canine.

What he lacks in downright naughtiness he makes up for in downright snobishness. Not one to mix with the riff-raff, the Sagittarian dog is quite content with his own company and the odd brush of affection from his lucky owner.

This is a dog that loves to see the world. He will happily come along on family outings and explore new territory with no trepidation or unease. The Sagittarian dog could be described as 'the it K9'. They love to be the centre of attention and live life to the max. The dog about town."

(Note from Momma - This is somewhat true of Eva, but she does not like to be the center of attention)

And her horoscope for the week

"An unusual energy could have both you and your housemate feeling a bit out of sync currently. As the week goes on you'll both ease into a calmer frame and will enjoy spending some quiet time just with each other. Though it's nice to have company and to observe humans interacting with each other, you find more to like when the environment is peaceful and serene now. The bond you're developing with your people is more fulfilling and enriching than any other."

So much to contemplate,

Princess Eva

Just a Lazy day

Since she isn't working, Momma took over most of the daily yard clean-up. But she got tired of the challenge of the treasure hunt (aka poo patrol) when the yard is full of leaves. So today, we spent the afternoon outside helping her rake up the leaves. Apparently, constantly asking her to throw our ball and flying squirrel was not all that much help.

So to keep us busy, she brought out a pair of split raw knuckle bones. They kept us busy for hours and hours. Now our teeth are sparkly clean and white.

Brice hid with his under one of the pine trees.

I stayed in the middle of the yard where Momma could see if Brice tried to steal mine.

They were yummy!

Rainy Day

Wednesday was cold and rainy. So my day consisted mostly of napping in my chair and asking Momma to throw my Cuz...

Wonder what the forecast for today is?

P.S. Sometimes others don't want to play and you decide to chase the wrong thing. Here is an example.

Dad and his princess

Dad and I went to the park alone last night. Here are a few of my favorite pictures and videos.

Video 1

Video 2

The size of our favorite dog parks has helped me "proof" my recall. This is why I am allowed off leash in safe areas like my front yard. No matter where I am, I always come running when Dad calls. Did you notice in the one video that if I'm not sure where he is, I come looking for him?

The scenery is so pretty.

What's over there??

Momma's favorite picture
Don't worry, Momma was off on the paved park trails with Brice. He thinks that he should play with everydog that he sees and Momma thought he should work on his public manners.

Later,
Princess Eva

P.S. Our friend MayaMarie and her mom's dog cookie business is now open. Please check it out here. They are so yummy and get Momma's stamp of approval. Natural ingredients, wheat free versions and no artificial colors or preservatives.

A new trail

We had our normal morning and afternoon play sessions with Mom. (Momma here: All day is more or less one big play session. But I'm not sure what they'll do when I go back to work.) Then instead of our normal play session when Dad got home from work on Friday, we went to hike a new trail.

Dad is working the camera for us.

Most of the trees are already past the "peak color" but it was still pretty.

Momma and Dad went out for dinner so we got our dinner late. Then Brice figured out where Momma hides all of our squeaky toys so that we're not squeaking after Dad goes to bed. But Momma wasn't in mood for constant Cuz squeaking so she lured Brice up on the couch and scratched his belly for 45 minutes. Yep, 45 whole minutes. She had to stop because her fingertips were getting tingly.

Meanwhile, I was a good girl and just napped by Dad's feet. I think I need extra treats for being low maintenance.

Yea!! Videos

Not sure what button she hit but Momma finally got the videos to work.

Here is the full routine of getting the mail. Yes, I answer to Princess, Princess Eva, Eve, Eva, and little girl. Sorry, Momma didn't water or mulch the flowers by the mailbox this year so they look like weeds.

Everyday, we go out and play with Dad when he gets home from work. Here are a few short videos.

Eva chasing her ball . (I don't usually catch it since I don't have the best eye to muzzle coordination)

A few of him here and here and here. He was worried that a special girl was thinking that he never catches his squirrel. As long as Momma or Dad throw it decently, he rarely misses.

We'll try to work on better videos in the future.

Action shots and PSA

Momma can't figure out the video issue so here are a few action shots that show some of what we do everyday.

Eva going out to get the mail

Brice about to launch to get his "flying squirrel"

Oops! I missed that one. But I can stop on a dime.

Eva running to get her ball before someone else gets there first.

PSA- Have you ever seen Search and Rescue (SAR) dogs on the news and wondered what their job is like? Here is Topper's story about one of his assignments.
