Time to Play

Dad and Momma did a little tree trimming on Sunday. They haven't cut up all of the big branches yet so we decided to get a little exercise and used them for jumping.

See Eva, there is nothing to be scared of.
Just hop over them!

Eva is approaching her first jump!
Dad is jumping with us!

That was fun. I'll do it again!

Brice showing great form!
Look how closely his back legs are tucked.

Sometimes Eva detoured around the tree.

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Super Brice!!!

Good even take-off

Eva is learning!
She would never had done this before now
but Brice is giving her lots of confidence to try new things.

We're going to do some more jumping tomorrow if the weather permits. We're suppose to get some "wintery mix".

P.S. We'll continue the Swamp Tour later this week. We're only 1/3 of the way around the swamp on the videos.

Swamp Tour Part 2 & 3

Here we are with sections 2 and 3 of our swamp tour. We filmed these sections on the same day as part 1 so Momma is still wearing the noisy jacket.

In section 2, we talked about Thor and Marco Polo coming to Minnesota for a show. Our moms are e-mailing back and forth to set up the opportunity for us to meet.

In case you can't hear Momma over her noisy jacket, this section picks up after we ran into a group of people touring the townhome community. One of the gentlemen made a comment about us needing a sled. Do we look like huskies? We need sheep not a sled.

Join us later this week for the next few sections.

Swamp Tour Part 1

Sometimes we like to go on the "swamp tour". It's actually a wetlands area that is about a mile from our house but during the summer, the mosquitoes are so thick that we call it the swamp. There are usually ducks and geese there along with various other animals and birds.

We broke this into several segments and here is the first section.

Did you notice that the boy is all over the place - has to smell everything, tries to push me off the path, wanders back and forth.

Stop back tomorrow for Installment 2

Princess Eva

P.S. Sorry for the funky noises on the video. Momma was wearing a coat that makes lots of noise when she moves.

Muddy Feety Feet

Our backyard is really muddy this time of year, so Momma has taught me to go and get in the bathtub to get my feety feet washed. But I'm still learning so I'm not 100% reliable on her request yet and occasionally detour to one of the dog beds.

I'm sure that most of my friends will laugh that I actually will do this for her. If Momma asks Eva to go and get her feet washed, Eva answers with a royal eye roll and head turn.

Momma requests that you do not pay attention to all of the dirty paw prints on our floor. Even though she does wipe our feet, sometimes we hide some mud between our toes. We're in and out all day and she refuses to follow us around with a mop.

We also have part 1, 2 and 3 of the swamp tour ready and we'll be sharing those over the next few days.

Another like us

Momma is not a big fan of zoos but she found a few interesting videos to share.

The videos may take a moment to buffer or you can also see them here and here.

It appears that Akira, a Belgian Tervuren like us, has traveled quite a bit. If you look at the other videos from this poster on Youtube, you will see Akira with other animals.

P.S. Message for Snow Flake- I'll be posting the other tomorrow.

Can I get squirrel in a can?

Due to someone not charging the camera battery, we do not have pictures from our field trip to Chuck and Don's, our favorite dog supply store.

But we can share with you what we got. Since I had helped myself to a gift that we were going to send to a friend, I had to replace it out of my allowance. Don't get me wrong, I love my Momma but she has some silly ideas about accountability, responsibility and some other "bility" words. We can't tell you what it is since we don't want to spoil the surprise but it is something from this company .

But while we were there, we picked up a few other things. Since the Princess is a picky eater, we get a little canned food with our kibble. Our selection this time included canned food from Wysong, Merrick Before Grain and Wellness Core . And we got a small bag of Orijen kibble since we may be adding that to our rotation list too.

But here is the shocker. We often get buffalo, fish, lamb and various birds but have never tried this. I'm not sure about this one. Would you try it?

I'm willing to try it!
Brice

P.S. I've heard a rumor that someone has video of me doing something that may cause my sweet Ammy to recoil in horror and could result in losing my HULA membership. I'm digging to find this video to destroy it but I think my sister may have a copy and plans to post it later this week.

Are you sure that you want to come play with us?

We usually play with lots of gruff noises but we must of have been tired the day that Dad filmed us. Even though Brice is faster and stronger, I do take my tiara off and play just as rough as he does. Sometimes when we're spinning fast, we're just a blur of Terv fur and people can't tell us apart.

Even though she didn't on this day, sometimes Momma sprays my shoulders with Bitter Apple because the boy likes to grab me there.

Woof ya later,
Princess Eva

P.S. The weather has not been cooperating with filming the Swamp Tour. Maybe we can do it this weekend after Momma takes the Boy to the store. He has to replace a gift that he helped himself to and Momma says he has to use his allowance.

Monday at the Park

I do want to explain that we do not get to go to the park everyday. But we do try to go as often as possible and the weather was so nice recently, that Momma declared the last 3 days as park days.

This is our favorite park

King of the Hill

Princess Eva loves her daddy and he loves her

Just checking out the pee-mail

Back in the wooded area, the path is still snow-packed

Come on! Let's explore the other paths in the park!

There is still snow back here too

King of the tree stump

On occasion, I do walk nicely next to Momma.
I think the funky stripe is the shadow from Eva's leash.

We did not go to the park on Tuesday but did the swamp tour. We'll try to video that in segments over the next few days so that you can see it too.

Melting Monday - updated!

It was 64F degrees yesterday and all of our precious snow is melting!

We heard Dad come home. Usually we both have our snooters inches
from the door but Momma was distracting me.

This is what is left of our snow in the backyard.

Momma likes this picture even though
I'm missing my ears and the tip of my tail.

I'm looking for the squirrel that I almost caught today.
I think I have some of his tail fluff in my teeth!

Update!!!! Dad just called to remind us that today is the 2nd anniversary of our first blog post. So much has happened in those 2 years. We thank everyone that has joined us along the way!

We did go to the park but will share those pictures tomorrow.

Happy St Paddy's day!

Sunday at the park

Some random pictures from yesterday's trip to the park. This is not our normal park since they close the park to dogs during the winter so that they can open the gates for crosscountry skiers.

If we were determined to get away, do you see the path we would take?

This path is a river due to the melting snow!

Brice had to be on his leash at the front of the park due to the open gates.

See how deep the water is on some of the paths?

At the back of the park, Brice did get to take his leash off

We're coming!!!!

We off for today's trip to our regular park.

Saturday at the park!

We went back to our favorite dog park by the Minnesota Ocean.

Yes, we had to go back in the tub! But just a little rinsing off our legs, tails and undercarriage. Since we have another playdate set up for tomorrow, Momma figured that there was no point to a full bath today.

Boys are pushy!

Girls are polite and graceful. Boys are pushy and rude. I can see all the girls out there agreeing with me and all the boys are protesting. I can prove it!

I take treats very gently. Brice has to be reminded or he'll take a few fingers with his treat.

I eat gracefully. Brice wolfs down his food.

I gently jump on the bed or couch after assessing the proper landing spot. Brice leaps from across the room and still doesn't understand paw placement (ask our Dad about that!)

This video is what happens if the gate is closed when Dad comes home from work. Notice that I wait patiently for Momma to open the gate. Brice just pushes me out of the way. Then he always has to dash into the closet to make sure that our toys are still there.

Did you see that Brice has a little issue with "barrier frustration"? He wants to get to the object of his interest and gets overly excited when there is a gate or window in his way or if he's on his leash. If the gate is open, he waits calmly at the garage door. We're working on the issue but he's not progressing as fast as Momma would like him to.

And for a weather update. We had rain, sleet and finally snow. But it was only an inch or two so it's still slippery out there which means that we still can't play in the backyard.

Am I right about boys?

Snow or No Snow!

We're getting fewer outdoor play sessions lately because our backyard is "dangerous". It's very icy and Momma and Dad are so worried that we could hurt ourselves that we usually only get to go out to take care of business.

We do get to go on walks and to the dog park but we miss our impromptu ball and squirrel sessions in the back yard.

We're actually asking for either the snow fairy or the snow thief to come to our house. Either bring us more to cover the ice or take the ice away.

But we wanna play!

The weather wheel says that the snow fairy will be stopping by but we all know that they lie.

Our forecast is
Mar 9 Tonight
A few rain showers this evening mixing with snow showers overnight. Low 29F. Winds ENE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precip 40%.
Mar 10 Tomorrow
A light mix of wintry precipitation in the morning will become more of a rain and snow mixture in the afternoon. High 34F. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precip 80%. Snow accumulations less than one inch.
Mar 10 Tomorrow night
Windy. Snow in the evening will transition to snow showers overnight. Significant blowing and drifting snow. Low near 5F. Winds W at 25 to 35 mph. Chance of snow 80%. Significant snow accumulation possible.

Until then, we're napping

Hey "Snow Flake"

Princess Eva: I noticed that some of the other boys found out Momma's pet name for you is Bricey and some seem to think that it's funny.
Brice: Yes, they did. I really don't care since I'm secure in my masculinity. I'm called Brice the Handsome and Brice, the Duke of Destruction for valid reasons. But I'm concerned about their self-esteem. But lets take a look at the boys in question.

From the Thundering Herd, we have

Rusty: Sleeps under the covers and even his dad says that he's not very bright. There may or may not be a rumor that he is a poodle in a Sibe suit.

Kodiak: is scared of the girls, falls out of bed and "may have" chewed on rocks.

Qannick: formerly named "Snow Flake" and was attacked by a dog food bag. 'Nuff said.

The girls from the Thundering Herd : Natasha, Kiska, and Cheoah are smart and very bewootiful and patient to put up with those boys.

Over at the OP Pack. First, I must commend Princess Dakota on her ability to put up with the boys and not banishing them to the outskirts of her kingdom. But lets discuss Phantom and Thunder. You should see what.......hold on (Princess Eva leans over and whispers something in my ear. ) Do I have too?? (more whispering) I suppose I could.. (Ouch!! a nip to my ear). Any sharing of the lovely characteristics of Thunder and Phantom has been canceled. Apparently, Princess Eva thinks Phantom's fluffy tail is "pretty".

Let's just say that I know that I am handsome, athletic and smart. I love my Momma more than anything and if she wants to call me "Bricey", I'll just roll over and let her scratch my belly.

Woof ya later,
Brice
aka Brice the Handsome, The Duke of Destruction, Bricey, Bricey Boy, Boy Dog, the Boy and da boy. Plus the neighbors call me "Bruce" and "Rex"

P.S. Even though Summi weighs 3 times as much as I do, I have pawed his head before. His calling me "bricey-boy" doesn't even warrant a flicker of an ear.

Friday night Dog Park

It's nice having old married people as your parents. Along with a lot of other nights, Friday night means DOG PARK!!!!

The snow thief has returned

A nice muddy park!
I'm playing with my new friend Cooper.
Cooper is the reason that there are no more pictures from the park.
He licked the camera lens and Momma didn't have any lens wipes with us.

If you click on the picture of me and Cooper you can see how dirty I was after 5 minutes.
But we stayed for a hour and I was pretty much black from snooter to tail
so it was bath time when we got home.

The princess wasn't as dirty but got a bath too.

I'm planning a special post tomorrow for the boys from the Thundering Herd and the OP pack.

Woof ya later,
Brice

Minnesota Sea

We made Momma and Dad take us to the park by the Minnesota Sea today. Unlike the Minnesota Ocean, we can walk all the way around the Minnesota Sea.

Down the trail to the MN Sea.
Apparently we lost our heads along the way!

Momma! Can you get rid of the foliage that keeps following me?

We do walk nicely together sometimes!

And we can sit together with the proper treat motivation.

Now you can see the Minnesota Sea in the background.

I wonder how far we can see if we use the telescope?

Nothing interesting this way either.

And finally, this was one of the ladders or very steep stairs on the children's playground equipment. Dad thinks that is it approx. 60 degrees.

Thanks for coming along!

She thinks that she has foiled my plans

Our Momma has been sick. The human vet says that she just has a cold but according to Momma, she has little ninjas slicing at her eyes, gnomes ripping out her throat and demons in her lungs.

In case you don't know, I looooooooooooove paper products. Usually, I have to be stealthy about snagging them, but there has been an abundance of them lately that she doesn't notice that some go missing. I just casually walk by and vacuum them up. I hide them tucked in the roof of my mouth until I'm out of her sight. But Dad noticed that I'm getting enough of them that my poo is starting to blend in with the snow.

I thought her brain was still in fuzzy medication mode but apparently a stray thought popped into her head. Her plan is a new box and an old box for used tissues never more than 2 feet from her.

How nice of her to contain all the good ones in one location for me.

I'll nap here until I know she's asleep.
Then I'll feast on the whole box.

Brice
