After we left Summi, we stopped at our first Sonic. No ice cream but a cheeseburger no bun (wheat is evil, except occasionally in treats Momma pretends to not see the word). No pictures either.
We stopped to see Grandma and Grandpa for a few minutes and Brice, the suck-up, convinced them that they love him instantly. Though it was funny when he couldn't stop and ran into the cabinets. We didn't stay long cuz we just wanted to get home. And when we did, what did we see?
Our neighbors are weird. Though some of the ones who don't know us well, thought we had a biped baby. Momma's fluffy but not that fluffy.
Dad is making sure that he and I still have our alone time. And you know who has to stay in the house.
We'd like to thank our friends who gifted us with stuffies and treats.
Then we had some pool time. The dork likes to chase the water hose.
For those who may not be able to tell us apart, I'm fluffier and have longer fur. The brat has a darker face.
So where did I leave off.... I remember. After we left the AO4, we went back to Omaha. (BTW, unlike some other girls, I have never rolled over for Brice the Pest.) Holly's Mom called us and told us that there was a big storm (little s) with 90 mph winds. Good thing that it was done by the time we got to Omaha so that we could go meet my fellow princess Holly.
We're discussing the challenges of being a princess. You may notice that we are not wearing our tiaras. There was a lot of storm damage around us and we didn't want to distract the humans that were working so hard to try to restore electrical power to everyone.
Just look at that smile on Holly's face. I didn't think that she'd fall for his so-called charm but apparently I was wrong.
See!!! She fell for his lines.
I'm not sure why all off these girls are falling for him. Maybe it's because they haven't seen him run into Grandma's kitchen cabinets when he forgot to stop.
Saturday morning, we went to see Summi and his Mummi. I wasn't sure if we were going to be able to meet him since he has been having some challenges lately.
Summi was consoling me about getting a PIA brother and said that he would have a chat with Brice .
And then Brice had the nerve to give Summi the paw to the face.
So Summi had get serious and privately tell Brice that if he does not treat me well and ever swats him again, Summi will swat him back.
I'll continue the story tomorrow and share the things that happened on the way home.
So Momma, Dad and I had checked into the hotel in Omaha but they knew there was going to be a challenge. I had my first elevator ride, went through my first revolving door but I do not like to potty while on a leash. Thankfully, they found a dog park close to the hotel.
Here is the dog park on Blondo
Dad thought this sign was funny. He not only cleans up after me but anybody who doesn't understand that if you do not follow the rules, you lose the parks.
We left the hotel early Friday morning and went to pick-up Brice in a little town called Fairbury, NE. For almost two hours, I had to deal with this obnoxious boy who kept insisting on sticking his nose where it didn't belong and whacking me on the head with his paws while Momma and Dad talked to his 1st human mom. This is not what I had been expecting when Dad told me that they were getting me a brother.
Finally, we went out to my PUV and I find out that he's coming with us. I thought I was getting a nice brother who obey my every command but instead I'm stuck with this puppy who's bigger than me and thinks that I'm a toy. I'm not sure about this but Dad distracted me by telling me that we were going to meet some of my friends, the one's who inspired Dad to start my blog. The famous AO4.
Dad took millions of photos but I've narrowed it down to some of my favorites
Here I am letting Zimmie verify that I am a Princess.
I think Zimmie was telling Brice that he needs to treat me better.
Brice has a way with the ladies. Within seconds of meeting him, Amber was whispering sweet nothings in his ear.
I think Dave was going to tell Brice that he better not get any ideas about his sisters or Holly
Then Dave came to acknowledge that he recognized me even though I was not wearing my tiara.
Here Brice is trying to impress Stormy with his fancy footwork.
We'd like to thank AO4's mom for letting us visit. We had such a great time and if they're ever in Minnesota, please stop by. We'd love to see you again.
The story continues tomorrow when I discuss visiting the one and only Holly and then the following day, we met Summi and his Mummi.
I want to include this video that Dad took as soon as we got home tonight.
Princess Eva and Brice, the pest
P.S. Sorry the whole story is not up yet but Momma and Dad are whining about 1260 miles and 5 visits in just over 2 days. But I know they loved every moment of it.
Sorry - it's been a long day. We'll continue the adventure tomorrow and post the pictures of the DWB tour. Yes, we met each of the A04 and Holly today. Tomorrow the tour continues with a stop in Des Moines.
Here is a picture of me and my new brother. (I'm the fluffy one in the back)
Just a warning, he is a bigger flirt than my darling Pippa and I think that Brice already has a couple of girlfriends.
Princess Eva
P.S. Once again, I sleep with Dad. And Brice has to sleep here.
Greetings form Omaha, Nebraska! It was a very long ride, but we finally made it. I have never been on such a long journey before. Our first stop was at Chuck and Don's pet store to get a few more things for the road. Here I am waiting for Momma to come back with goodies for me.Notice that it only took me 15 minutes to mess up Dad's nice clean windows. Everypup has to have a job to do and this is one of mine.
Here I am all settled in for the trip. Just look at all that stuff on the left side of the picture! Treats and toys galore!! There's presents for my meet and greets and new stuff for my new little brother Brice. And of course things for me, too!
Dad was a little worried that he might be going the wrong way so every now and then I had to make sure we were on the right road. He did a pretty good job and we didn't get lost once.
We stopped once for lunch at a fast food restaurant and once at a gas station. Both times the humans wanted me to pee. Pee at a fast food restaurant or a gas station?!?!? PUUU-LLEEEAASE! A princess does NOT pee at a fast food joint or especially a gas station. Finally the humans had the good sense to stop at an appropriate place and I was able to do my business.
This much better. Thanks Dad.
When we finally made it to Omaha, I had to wait for Momma to get me checked in. I get worried when my pack gets separated, so I must keep a sharp eye and ear out for their return.
Finally! Time to Relax!!
Well, tomorrow is the big day! We'll be meeting Brice tomorrow morning and then we are going to go meet the AO4! Then later in the day we get to meet Holly and the rest of her pack! I have a feeling I am going to be one tired princess by the end of the day tomorrow. We also are trying to go see Summi and his Mummi on Saturday and then stop at my Grandma's house so she can meet Brice, too. What a weekend!! Stay tuned because if I'm not too tired I will post about all the excitement tomorrow night. Sweet dreams, furkids! With Royal Salutations, Princess Eva.
P.S. It's 11:30 p.m. and apparently there is no room for Momma on this bed. Thankfully, there isa second bed in this hotel room.
Momma said that I can't blog tonight because she's busy packing. But I refuse to break my streak. so here's a random picture.
Edited to add a new picture of Brice that Momma just received via e-mail. (No, this is not Momma) We won't actually meet him until Friday morning. Princess Eva
I wanted to introduce a few of my new friends. You may know some of them but stop by and meet the others. They're all very unique pups.
1. Suka is a Mal cross living in California. But she used to live in the Midwest. 2. Oorvi lives in India. Wow! That's a long way away. 3. Charlie Danielslives in Australia. He's quite a character. 4. Thor and Marco live in Iowa. Marco knows another Terv named Tina.
I was just laying out in the grass, minding my own business, when someone decided I needed a bath. Mom accidentally deleted the pictures of me in the shower. But here is some of the after pictures. If you click on the picture, it gets bigger and you can see that my fur is crinkly when it's wet.
Once in a while I like to go and curl up beside Tasha's favorite bed. It still has her scent on it and it makes me feel closer to her. I miss my big sister still and I always will.
Dad asked me last night if I wanted to go on a road trip in my PUV. Well, big DUH, Dad. I love going for rides. He said we are going to go pick up my new little brother and we will be leaving Thursday night. It is going to be so cool to be the big sister!! I am very excited not only because we are going to get Brice, but also because I'm going to be making a few stops to see some of my other pup friends for the first time! Do any of you have a guess as to who they might be?
Momma and I were sitting around the other night thinking of ideas for posts and we decided to allow one post a month to be a PSA (Public Service Announcement).
So here is this month's PSA- Several years ago, one of Momma's friends(Jane) had a well-loved Samoyed named Casper. Another friend had to find a home for her son's Samoyed named Spirit or he was going to drop her off at the humane society. (a big Boo Hiss to all people who no longer want their dog because it's no longer a cute puppy). So Momma told Jane that Spirit needed a home and Casper needed a friend and that their names worked well together. Jane went to see Spirit, fell in love with her and brought her home.
Life is good, the whole family loves Spirit, she's fed good quality food and has good health care. But Momma forgot to ask a very important question. Were Casper and Spirit fixed. You know where I'm going with this.
A few months later, Jane comes to work and says that they had been very good about keeping Casper and Spirit apart when she was in heat but their daughter had forgotten to close the door once and Spirit was going to have puppies.
A few weeks later, Spirit has 5 pups. Now one pup is the mascot of a winery in California, one lives down the street, one lives in Montana and the other two........live with Jane, Spirit, Casper and the rest of the family.
To give her credit, Jane followed the Rule of 7s so they would be well socialized and screened the homes well. She didn't plan to keep the two pups but could not find good homes for them. BTW, she lives in a town that only allows 3 dogs. So only two can go outside at a time and she walks them in pairs.
So the lesson of the day is spay and neuter your pups or you may end up with more that you planned on.
I'm fixed and Brice will be as soon as he comes to live with us, Princess Eva
P.S. Casper has been neutered and Spirit has been spayed. Jane learned her lesson well.
I told Momma and Dad that I can't wait until tomorrow and that Momma can do her PSA later.
Are you ready???
Are you sure????
Remember when I mentioned that Momma and Dad thought there was something magical about Tervs? Or should that be majical?
This is so exciting!!!!
I'm getting a brother!!!!!
Introducing ..... His call name is Brice and he is 17 months old. This is not a rescue but is a "rehome". He was kept as the stud owner's pick of the litter and was shown as a pup (has 6 pts including a major for 3) then his bite went off. Then on. Then off. They stopped showing him and he went off to learn to be a service dog for one of the her friends. But he is a little too energetic so she is switching him out for another calmer dog.
We were connected with Brice by Debbie (the foster mom for the rescue dog that we wanted).
It will be a few weeks until he is here with us because he is in Kansas and we're going to drive down to get him.
I'm so excited, Princess Eva
P.S.The most recent pictures are a few months old but there a few more pictures here P.S.S. The blog name will remain Eva-lution because I am the princess.
As some of you may be aware that I am the only Belgian Shepherd on DWB, and more specifically, I am the only Belgian Tervuren. I have my own secret society that I call the Belgian Brigade. No logo yet and I'm working on another member.
Being that canines are pack oriented, I thought long and hard and decided to ask Huffleif I could join The Cat Pack. There is actually some logic behind this request.
1. Per the AKC and ABTC official description for the Belgian Tervuren - Feetrounded, cat footed, turning neither in nor out, toes curved close together, well-padded, strong nails.
3. I have been referred to as the Horka Ninja. I realize thats not quite the same as a khat hacking up a furball
4. I can be very light on my feet.
OK, other than the first item, I don't have much of an argument. But Huffle has graciously allowed me to be a member of The Cat Pack.
With a royal wave, Princess Eva
P.S. Tomorrow will be a public service announcement and Thursday will be a big announcement. P.S.S. Another one of my secrets(after all, khats are very secretive) In addition to having two assistants, sometimes late at night, I draft multiple posts ahead of time and then publish when I want to post. P.S.S.S. Momma thinks I might be hanging around Khyra too much. I'm starting to spell like her.
A few of you know a secret and I wanted to let you know that Momma received an e-mail - It's official. Please keep the cheering to a dull roar - Momma is home with a migraine today.
Momma can't find the pictures from my trip to see Grandma and Grandpa yesterday. Maybe they're on Dad's laptop. We'll check and see.
Meanwhile, here are some of the pictures from today's trip to the new dog park that Dad found for me last week.
Dad actually asked me to get on the table
No one is on the fishing pier so I decided to check it out.
Is that a fish down there?
Here is a better picture of the beach. I wish it was by the ocean.
What's that I see over there?
Since I'm a princess maybe this should be my castle.
Upon closer inspection, it's not my style
Time to go home. I always recognize my DUV. Or as someone has called it, my PUV (Princess Utility Vehicle)
Princess Eva
Edited to add- Eva has a great recall and we always watch for cars in the parking lots. More than 2 or 3 cars means that she is on the leash or as close as she comes to a heel position.

Tasha 9/97 - 5/24/08 Collie/Husky/Golden
Eva's Letter to Tasha. Thank you for being my big sister. I love you and miss you more than words can convey. Momma and Dad tell me that I have a big collar to fill but that I can do it. With your help, I know that I can. I still feel you next to me, still guiding me and sharing your wisdom. I can feel you giving me confidence and telling me that I can do it when I'm scared. You guided me in life and I thank you for continuing to guide me now. Your little sister, Eva
