Tasha went to the vet earlier this week due to behavior and physical changes including lack of appetite, slight temperatures and changes in respiration. The changes had only been occurring for 2-3 days but felt that a trip to the vet was needed to determine if she had picked up a bug while playing in the "water" at the dog park. While there we requested a needle biopsy of a lump which came back as a lipoma which is a fatty tumor. No treatment is needed for lipomas unless they get too big and affect movement. Tasha had two removed a few years ago. But the vet recommended watching her for a few days and bring her back if she didn't improve.
She went back today for a blood panel and chest x-rays. They found what appears to be a mass in her abdomen and nodules in her lungs. The nodules could be cancer or something else that I cannot remember at the moment. Bloodwork will back tomorrow. Further diagnosis of her lungs will be very invasion and will not occur until the mass is analyzed. If it is cancer in her lungs, it most likely originated somewhere else. So we are scheduled with an oncologist for ultrasounds and further diagnosis on Saturday.
Unfortunately we have been through this before with Tia so we're trying to stay in control and in the moment at this time. We would appreciate it if you could take a moment to send your healing thoughts her way.
Thanks,
Vicky, Doug and Eva
P.S. She hasn't totally lost her appetite but she has lost 1.4 lbs in the last 3 days. We giving her what ever it takes to get her to eat. Tonight's dinner was scrambled eggs with cheese and a little green tripe and a handful of kibble for the crunch factor.
