It's been a year...

It's been a year since the devastating day that Tasha went to the Rainbow Bridge. She was our beautiful, precious little girl and her world revolved around her Dad.

Tasha got very sick so fast. We tried everything that we could to find the cause and make her well but at the end, we just couldn't put her through another series of tests. In her way, she was telling us that it was time. It was not a decision that we wanted to make but it was time to ultimately show how much we loved her by easing her journey to the bridge and let her go with dignity, in our arms and knowing that she was loved. The last thing that she did as she was beginning to cross was give her dad a kiss. And the last thing that I whispered in her ear was that we loved her and to please send us a sign from the bridge that she understood.

Natasha Rae (Tasha)
9/97 - 5/24/08

We received several signs from her in the next several weeks and we still feel her spirit with us. We think of her often and we talk to her almost every week. She usually doesn't answer but we know that she is listening.

Warm light coming from far below,
Twinkling, sparkling is the candle's glow.
All is well up on the ridge,
The place we know as Rainbow Bridge.
Furbabies sleeping in heaven's light,
Tended by candles in the night.
Peaceful dreams be theirs to keep,
As they slumber in this night so deep.
Hearts on earth that miss them so,
Take comfort in the candle's glow.
Watching for them in skies above,
Bound eternally by a cord of love.
- Laura Hickman

Please hug your fur babies today and tell them how much they are loved.

We are sure that Tasha is sitting at the bridge, surrounded my members of The Herd and others, and smiling down at you today. She appreciates that last gift you gave her but, mostly, remembers all of the wonderful times that you had.

We will be thinking of you today.

I have just read about Tasha on Khyra's post today.
My heart goes out to you - I really do understand how hard it is.
Tasha was fortunate to have been so well loved both in life and death.

Our thoughts are with you - we remember the day Tasha passed all too well - I felt guilt that Charlie had made it, but Tasha didn't. It really wasn't fair :(

Thank you for loving Tasha, and for bringing her into all our lives.

Love

My Mom says that we go to the rainbow bridge too soon because God wants us to share Mom & Dad with other lucky dogs. She said God has made a special place in their hearts for us so that we are with them forever.

I think you told my Mom that Tasha was a shelter dog. People have to understand how very special these dogs are and how much they will enrich our lives.

My Mom thinks Tasha is hanging our with our old Otis, 16 year old Scottie, who was a gentleman and will treat everyone he meets with kindness. She would like that, wouldn't she?

Kisses,
Stella

What a sweet girl. I'm sure it was easier for her to cross the bridge knowing that she had a family that loved her.

How comforting to have a precious girl who you loved so much.

Thank you for sharing Tasha's last beautiful moments with us. Mom can't stop crying.

This was a beautiful tribute to an amazing girl. We wish we could have known her, since it is clear how sweet and loving she was.

She has a lot of good company with her at the bridge. The coolest thing is that she sent you signs. We are still waiting for some.

We didn't know Tasha but we know your Mom and Daddy gave her the best life possible because we know them personally and they are awesome! We are sure Tasha is running with our Samantha and they probably talk every day about what we are doing here while they wait for us!
