The Princess and the Gimpy boy

I had to have a serious talk with someone about the lack of my presence lately. I have been reassured that as soon as someone grows up and stops causing issues, the coverage will be more balanced.

And I was reminded that only I get to be on the sofa for special snuggle time with Dad.

Back to HIM for a minute since somepup is concerned about him. Until the bandages come off, Brice has to wear a very stylish plastic bag covering the Viking purple bandage on his foot whenever he goes outside.

Momma apologizes for his lack of obedience in the first video. He knows he is not suppose to be trampling on the hostas but since Momma forgets to water them, they're going to die anyway.

And to show that he can still move a a speed faster than a walk.

Time for my early afternoon nap.

P.S. Our friend Oorvi is up for DWB blog of the month. You may have noticed that some of us have added breed specific clocks on our blogs. Among their other talents, Oorvi and her Mercury created those clocks. If you haven't voted yet at the Bone Zone, please consider Oorvi.

8 weeks = 6 vet visits

Apparently my goal is to make Momma poor.

I have been to the vet 6 times in 8 weeks.

Visit 1 - bloodwork for neuter(was suppose to be nueter but one of my protein levels was low and they suggested waiting and doing a retest)
Visit 2 - Neuter
Visit 3 - Put staples in because I've ripped out all of stitches
Visit 4 - Take staples out
Visit 5 - Rabies shot (not done on any prior visit due to not noticing that the prior vet had only used a 1 year rabies vaccine instead of the 3 year)
Visit 6 - Fixing the tears in two of my toe pads

Let me explain visit # 6.

Thursday night we were on our way to obedience class and since we were going to be early we stopped at a pet supply store to restock my toy box.

I was on Momma's right side and as she opened the door I darted to the left side and got my paw stuck between the door and the cement sidewalk. I pulled it back and didn't yelp or anything so Momma thought I was OK. A few minutes later, when Momma showed me a new toy she noticed that I was holding up my paw and she looked back saw a path of bloody foot prints. She quickly stopped the bleeding but instead of going to class, we went home and cleaned and wrapped my paw. She found two tears in my pads.

I was putting my full weight on it but I kept pulling off the bandages and picking at the paw so I started limping last night. So it's off to the vet this morning to determine how to fix me.

I forgot to share that when I was at the vet last week for the shot, there were two other Belgians there. A Groenendael and a grey Terv. But we didn't have time to stop and sniff. Even though out new vet is 30 minutes away (it's an hour during rush hour), we go there because they have other Belgian clients). Maybe there will be other Belgians there today.

I'll update later but it's time to go now.

Brice

P.S. Momma is feeling really guilty so I have been getting extra love and treats.

UPDATE: No bone damage. No infection. They trimmed off the loose flaps of my pads. One was already healing and the other was a little more damaged so they wrapped my paw again and gave my Momma some pills for me. I have to back on Monday(visit # 7) for a re-check.

Finally

Finally Momma and Dad have shaken some pictures out the majic picture box.
Here I am. I always come when they call. Brice is way far back in the distance. This was his first trip to the dog park and there were a lot of distractions for him.

See how tall the grass is? Sometimes we get lost in the grass and can't see our parents. But we always find them.

We try to stick to the trails so our parents don't get lost.

Except for the leash, people always think that I'm not wearing a collar. I'm a princess and would never go around naked.

Here's Brice looking like a doof.

One of our neighbors commented that Brice was barking a lot during the day. He gets confined to the guest room when our parents aren't home and since he can see the front yard and the street, he lays on the bed and barks at everything that goes by. So today, Momma blocked him in the kitchen and living room area. This area faces the backyard and Momma thought he wouldn't see anything to bark at. Even though she thought that she had puppy-proofed those rooms, he proved her wrong. Here are some of the things that he found to destroy. The calendar was high up on the majic food box and somethings, well Momma is not sure where he found them.

Will he ever grow up?

Where is the cable?

So the cable for the majic picture box is still not in. So Momma drew this picture of us just for you.(Note from Momma: I draw stick people and I'm not ashamed of it)
Dad needs to find the cable for the old majic picture box so that we can shake the pictures out. Hopefully we'll get the cable for the new one soon.

Two of our favorite friends from the scenic state of Iowa gave us a new award. Thank you Thor and Marco.
There are no rules for this award but somepup came to mind right away. We'd like to pass this award to Rocky. Many of you may know Rocky and his Mom. They are very nice to everypup and always seem to know everypup's birthday and who needs hugs and good thoughts. Meanwhile, we're lucky if Momma remembers our birthdays much less anypup elses.

Later gators,

Obedience Class

As if Momma doesn't ignore my blog enough, she has decided that Brice needs to go to obedience classes. Brice didn't get to go with her tonight but she did come home with the news that there will be a Newfie, 2 Huskys and a 11 month old Wolfhound in their class. She was worried that it would be all little dogs and Brice would think that it was snack time. So starting next week, I'll be letting Brice post about his class. He thinks that he's going to be a rock star. Momma thinks it's another opportunity for him to be a PIA (pain in the ---).

Also, mark your calendars for 9-1-08 through 9-5-08. Our queen Meeshka will be doing a blogging marathon to raise money for Harnessed To Hope Northern Breed Rescue. I've already stolen Momma's credit card and pledged.

I promise pictures this weekend. Momma forgot to stop and pick up the missing cable.

Til then,
Princess Eva

New Award

Our friends Thor and Marco from one state south of us gave us a new award. I really like Thor and Marco and I think they're very khute. Thank you!

We now must give the award to 5 furiends. Four of these furiends must be dedicated followers of our blog (would be nice if we were that dedicated too).
One should be a new blogger and live in a different part of the world.
Each awardee must link back to whomever gave the award.

In no particular order:

1. Charlie is a hoot and lives in down under. (I wonder if Charlie and Huffle know each other?)

2. River is a very khool beagle (plus I love the name of his blog "Down River"

3. Sparky is a one of a kind pup. (and he just won a gold medal at the Paw-limpics)

4. Yes, Witty Kitty is a kitty. But as she says "
I'm small, but I carry a mean posse."

5. Addie just joined DWB but you have got to go visit her. She is the cutest thing. We took this award as an opportunity to visit some pups new to DWB and fell in love with her pictures.

Also, Dad has ordered a new cable for the majic picture box so we will be able to share more of our adventures or training opportunities (whichever you prefer to call them) soon.

Til then,
Princess Eva

P.S. We're off to visit all of your blogs. Sorry that we have been MIA for a few days.

My clock is ready!

Did you notice that I have my very own clock? I put it right on my sidebar and was a gift from my friend Oorvi and her Mercury.

Yep, it's definitely me and not my PIA brother. You can tell because it has my tiara on it.

So proud of my clock,
Princess Eva

Have you noticed......

Have you noticed that we haven't posted any pictures for a few days? That would be because somepup ate the the cord that connects the little majic box to the big box.

This is just the latest in his choice of snacks. You can see the entire list by visiting our queen Meeshka. In honor of his skills, he has been deemed worthy of joining the HULA hoop.

Next to him, I am the good child.
Princess Eva

P.S. We went to the vet and got his staples out this morning. They said he was perfect. Apparently they don't know the real Brice.
P.S.S. He tried to chase the office cat at the vet. Didn't catch him.
