What a Difference a Day Makes

Hi furkids, Tasha here.

When dad got home from work yesterday it was 42 degrees (5 degreesC). As I paw this post it is -9 degrees (-23 C) with a wind chill of -33 degrees (-36 C). Here is a video of Eva playing ball and the melting that was going on yesterday.

I so love the snow when it is soft like it was yesterday. I can dig into it and stick my face deep into the wonderful white stuff. But today all my wonderful snow banks are as hard as a rock! Not good. Tonight will get down to -15 degrees (-26C). BRRRRR-PUPPY!! Makes me hold up my paws if I'm outside too long. Hope all my pup buds are staying warm and dry!

On a very sad note, or good friend Clive has crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge. Please keep Clive and his mom in your prayers. He was a very sweet boy and his mom is missing him very much. But he is now with his brother Buster running and playing pain-free. We will miss you , Clive.

You know they love you when.........

This month our protein source was switched to venison. The kibble company states that this line is formulated so that you can rotate between the various proteins. Cool!!! Variety is good.

Since somedog (not me) doesn't always want to eat at mealtime and the bipeds always pick up our dishes when they leave the house so that I can't sneek a second breakfast. This results in that same somedog being hungry later, so they have started adding a little soft food to our kibble to encourage her to eat at the appropriate time. This week we get .....

Dad says this is making our poo extra stinky. Too bad cuz it is soooo good. Almost every day, Dad goes out and does "poop patrol". He's only missed a few days a year but he does it everyday for the following reasons:
  1. Momma likes walk around barefoot
  2. So the neighbors don't have to smell the fact that we are not potty trained

This topic reminded the Momma of http://www.baxterboo.com/fun/poopscoop/

We will not share our results and please don't share yours!

Belly Rubs,
Tasha

P.S. Yes, darling Pippa, we still love you very much. Momma has not re-sent your card because she is a loser. But she has a plan to include something for a belated Gotcha Day surprise. Should we mail it to your address in Spain or Gibralter?
P.S.S. Sorry that the P.S. above is attached to a post that includes poo. Focus on that it is attached to a post about food. We love food. :-)

Few Words Friday

Here is another great pic from the internet. We are dedicating this Few Words Friday picture to our handsome buddy Sherman over at the Dogs of Jackman Avenue. Don't be jealous Lola and Penny, but we have a soft spot for your cuddly big brother! We think Sherman was even cuter than these guys when he was a puppy. Have a fabulous weekend everypup! A Half Day with Dad

Hi fur buddies, Eva here. Tasha and I got a great surprise today. Dad got a half a day off of work so he was home by 10:30 a.m. today! Yippeee!! He gets to work by 5:00 a.m. so that is why he was home so early. Momma has been out of town all week, so we were so very glad to see him. First thing we did was go outside to play. Here is me out back. I think I heard another dog barking when dad took the picture.
Just look at all those puppy prints in the snow. When we look into all our neighbor's yards, there is all this smooth, un-tracked snow. We would just love to change that, but dad won't let us.
Here we are playing in the piles that dad makes for us when he clears the snow off the patio. We just LOVE snow piles!

SNOW, SNOW, SNOW, WE LOVE SNOW!!

Here is Tasha with a ball. Doesn't she look happy?
When we got inside, what do you think we get? A treat of course! Here is a little video of us getting our treats. As you will see, I'm still having a little trouble trusting the footing on the hardwood floor.
For the rest of the day we have been watching Lord of the Rings The Two Towers and Return of the King. (Yes, dad is kind of a geek). At least he has been laying on the floor with us and giving us pets, scratches, and belly rubs! He can watch anything he wants if he give us that kind of attention. What a great day! Hope all you furkids had a great day, too. Belly Rubs, Eva.

Coooold!!

Hey pups, kitties, and GG. Tasha here today. As we said in our last post, we have had very cold weather the last week. On Saturday night it got down to -17 F (-27 degrees C) with a high of
-2 F (-19 degrees C) on Sunday. So this is what we did most of the time this past weekend.
I'm sooo bored. Will you humans pleeease play with me?
Here is where Eva spent a lot of the time.
A butt in dire need of brushing.
Both Eva and I HATE to be brushed, but you have to admit that that butt of her's could use a little attention.
I like the tent under the Momma!
She sure likes to lay between the chair and the ottoman, especially when Momma has a blanket over her legs.
When we did get to go outside with Dad, we had to wait soooo long for him to get ready. What is it with humans that they have to put on so much fur just to go out for a little while. Let's take stock of the fur Dad has to put on before he can go outside.
OK, here is what we have. Neck fur, head fur, hand fur, and body fur. Not to mention the extra silk liners that he puts on under his hand fur. What a wuss. We don't need no stinkin' extra fur!! And then after he gets all that fur on we still have to wait for.....
FOOT FUR!
We have to have our foot fur trimmed and he has to add fur! What is up with that??? Humans are so ill-equipped for being outside. How is it that they are at the top of the food chain? It certainly can't be because of their brains.
It is suppose to warm up by Friday, so maybe we can get some quality outside time instead of being out for 10 or 15 minutes before we are holding up our paws.
Bark at every fur kid later!! Belly Rubs, Tasha.

Few Words Friday

This is could be the ugliest puppy in the whole world.
He must have been in a terrible accident. Look what happened to his tail!
Even though he is funny looking, dad seems to really like him.

It is really cold around here. As we paw this post it is 6 degrees (-15 C). Tonight it is supposed to get down to -15 degrees (-26 C). That means not much outside time for us this weekend. Dad usually makes up for it by playing with us a lot in the house. Hope all our fur friends have a great (and warmer than here) weekend! Belly Rubs, Tasha & Eva.

We're Bad

Hello, all, Eva here. So sorry that we have not been posting and commenting lately. We have been falling down on the job of getting our humans to help us. They have been very busy lately. That is what they say, but I think they are just lazy. Not much has been going on around here anyway, so you haven't missed anything exciting. All we have are a few more pictures of us in the snow.
Come on dad, throw the ball for me!!

I'm gonna get you, Eva!

I know that ball is in here somewhere.
Just look at those claws on Tasha. That is another thing that the humans have a hard time staying on top of. They say they need to trim our nails more. We say don't worry about it. We HATE having our talons trimmed. The last time I had mine done, dad cut one too short and I was bleeding! Good thing he had some special stuff to put on it to stop the flow of blood.
After all that playing outside this is how we look when we get back inside.
Yes, we do deserve that treat you're holding!

We want to send a special shout out to Holly's and Summit's moms for helping two rescue huskies get to there furever homes in Colorado. Great job, ladies! We also want to send many puppy prayers out to Maryann and the Brat Pack. Maryann adopted a beautiful pup named Durango, but he had a severe case of Parvo and crossed the Bridge last week.

We will do our best to be better bloggers and get around to check on all our great friends more often than we have in the last month. Some times we just don't have much to report on. Hopefully there will be some excitement around here soon. WE ARE BORED!! Belly Rubs, Eva.

Few Words Friday

I don't think I could be any more comfortable!

Hey Furkids, Tasha here. The picture above was taken before the snow in our back yard got all hard from the warm temperatures we've had this last week. I like my snow nice and fluffy. I have to be careful now when I stick my face in the snow banks not to hurt my snooter!! We promise to get around to see everypup, kitty and hammy this weekend. I know we said that in our last post, but the humans have been lazy and not given us our well-deserved computer time. Hope you all have a great weekend! Belly Rubs, Tasha.

Catching Up

Hi everypup, kitty, GG, and human, Eva here today. So sorry that we haven't been around much. Getting the humans to let us have computer time lately has been impossible. We need to get our own dogtop computer so we can post anytime we want. Should have asked Santa Paws for one of those!

We got the most wonderful award from our very good friend Holly the Malgal!! Thank you so much, Holly! It's the "You Make My Day Award". There are so many great blogs out there that make our day. We are supposed to pass this on to 10 others, but we are so far behind I think that most of our pup friends already have it.

We did find that our friends Randi , Clive and Cosmos and Juneau haven't posted this yet. We love their blogs and always stop by to check on them.

Way Cool Award!

Here is another reason we haven't been able to post and comment lately. Some of you may have noticed from some of our other pictures that there is a kitchen remodel going on right now. Mom and dad have been putting a lot of time into putting in the back splash tile. It sure looks better than the green drywall that was there for like a year! Since we didn't post about our travels for the Holidays, here are some pictures from the trip to Grandpa and Grandma's house. These are from dad's mom and dad's house. We got to see two new additions to our family!
Here is Tasha saying HI to Brook. She is dad's youngest brother's daughter. Here is a better picture of her Aren't those some beautiful blue eyes?!?!? She is a real cutie!

Tasha is the social butterfly of the two of us. This is where I spent most of the time we were at Grandpa and Grandma's. I don't like to get too far from mom and dad in strange places. I had only been here once before, but I did better than last time. I actually did go around a little bit to say hi to everyone. Here is the newest member of our family. His name is Zachary. He is our dad's sister's son. He smells very different. Tasha thought he had a very interesting sent about him. Hey, Lisa, that little human smells funny!

Tasha really likes Lisa. She lived with mom and dad when Tasha was 1 year old. Tasha always gets VERY excited when she sees Lisa. Just shows that us pups remember the humans we meet.

About a week ago we had some more snow. I thought that the snow looked so lovely that I had dad bring out the camera and I told him what scenes I wanted photographed. Our backyard facing east.

Our backyard facing west.

Tasha deep in the snow!

I couldn't be happier!!
We have had some above freezing temperatures the last 3 or 4 days, so the snow is melting and getting very firm in our backyard. That is good for my ball chasing. When the snow is soft and fluffy, sometimes I have a hard time finding my ball when dad throws it. Dad has to keep a very close eye on where the ball goes in case I can't find it. Right now that isn't a problem. My ball bounces and rolls the way I like it!
Hope every furkid is having a great 2008 so far, we sure are! Tasha and I promise to make the rounds of all our buddies blogs and get caught up on all the news! Belly Rubs, Eva.

Few Words Friday

Hello again everypup, kitty and GG. We would first like to apologize for not posting and visiting all our friends the last week or so. We have been very busy with all the holiday stuff going on. We put on over 600 miles in our DUV (Dog Utility Vehicle) during the Holiday season going to visit our family. It was SOOO much fun to see everyone!! There are two new little bipeds that have been added to the family since last Christmas, so it was really great to sniff babies!

Not only was it the Holidays, but it was also our dad's barkday yesterday. Here is what Eva and I got him for his big day:

We did the head tilt thing when that card started to play music! Dad is a big Star Wars fan, so we knew he would love the card. Dad wouldn't tell us how old he is, he would only say that it was the anniversary of his 29th birthday.

Now that things have gotten back to the normal routine around here we will be back to posting more regularly and reading about all our new and old friends adventures. We hope every fur kid and human has a fabulous and prosperous 2008! Belly Rubs, Tasha & Eva.
